Work Time Tracker (Old Toggl) App Reviews

Broken

Used to be able to add times without using timed function (e.g. as a block of 2 hrs). Now I cant. Can edit times once entered with timer but this is too cumbersome. Cant use app until this works again.

WARNING: DO NOT UPDATE

Toggl crashes on load relatively frequently since one of the recent updates and, worse, it doesnt sync all of the activities anymore. This morning, for example, I recorded 3 activities on my iPhone and although they all appear on the iOS version, only one has synced to the site and to other devices! The app is now immensely frustrating and entirely inaccurate. AVOID THE UPDATES!

Not Good new navigation

Plz do not be displayed new navigation with right swipe. Its troublesome.

Great and some suggestion

Great app. I can see how long time I spend for my jobs and improve my work. But I want to suppress sync error message in very busy and slow internet connection.

Much worse after upgrade

1. Adding a record from the past doesnt work 2. The pie chart is now below and it is necessary to scroll down 3. The design is worse, was minimal, now it has unnecessary things, like an icon of user (gray and ugly) 4. There is no toggl in the notofication section of ios as it was before.

Still wont run on iPhone 4

The app crashes upon start-up on iPhone 4.

Broken autocomplete

How am I going to use this crap now? It does not finish the name of the task!

Does not work with iPhone 4s

After open the program show and auto close(

Time entering functionality broken

Autocomplete and time entering broken. Mobile app is a totally crap after last update.

Ugh

Hamburger menus are the worst. This is terrible. :(

Lost functionality with this update

Before this latest update I counted on the mobile apps ability to restart a task from the past (including the tags, client, everything) by simply choosing No Prohect and typing the task name. It would magically match past tasks and with one click Id be on my way (even better than the web client which doesnt copy tags). But now thats been removed, or maybe your considered it a bug and "fixed" it. Regardless the update has made this app and the platform as a whole too much of a burden for time tracking. Now it takes me at least a minute to find the names of tasks older than a few weeks plus another minute to find and re enter the tags. So much time that I created a project to track the time it takes me to use Toggl. Keep working on it team. Youre close to something really worthwhile.

Great app...

...great app that helps me to keep track of my time even away from my computer. Id like to see the projects being searchable via imputing text instead of scrolling across them all, especially if a company, like mine, has a ton of different project classifications to choose from.

This update is a step back

Please bring back the auto-complete functionality. Second, the right-swipe function to get into the left menu interferes with the feature of swiping right to continue the prior entry. There is no need for me to swipe right to get to reports and settings. Third, please add a daily report. My overall rating remains 5 Stars because this app is exactly what it is supposed to be and because the support team is reliable and they will fix it soon. Thank you, Toggl. Prior review Subject: Excellent and improving I really like to track time in both my work and some of my personal activities. I have found Toggl to be the simplest way to do that and it is very quick. The latest iOS app is well-designed and the recent addition of weekly and monthly and annual reports is a huge improvement for visualizing time management. I would like to see a little bit easier bulk editing for tasks on the website. Even more, I would really appreciate a widget to quickly stop a timer and start a new timer without having to go into the app itself. I am on the pro plan for five dollars per month. It is worth every penny. Finally, their support staff is polite and timely.

Bad update :(

I should start off by saying, I dont think Ive ever left a 1 star review for anything. Ever. What happened.. did you guys hire a junior UX designer and hand them the reigns? Sigh... where to begin. Heres everything that had been working and is now broken by this update, that Ive noticed so far. Ive only had this update for a day or so, Im sure Ill keep updating the list: - why did the stop button go away in the running task screen??? To stop a running task now required to interactions vs only one before. Why make things more complicated? - biggest thing is that autocomplete no longer works. This is HUGE. Ive been using your service both personally and professionally for the past few months and I will stop shortly without this feature. Please fix. - the sliding drawer that reveals the settings by sliding from the left. Disable this or reduce the gesture recognition area greatly. When modifying start/end times and swiping up & down, the drawer keeps trying to reveal the settings menu. If the settings menu was something I used very often, this might be understandable but Ive opened the setting only two or three times in the thousands of times Ive opened and used the app. This is not a useful feature, I can tap the top left icon to reveal the settings if I need to; I dont need it accessible from any point on the screen. - can no longer choose a start day when creating a new task. Sometimes tasks spill continue past midnight. If I forget to start a task, I now cant start one beginning on the previous day. - the start/end time validation. Under certain circumstances the app opens a popup saying the times are invalid. For example if you set the end time before the start time, it will pop up letting you know thats not valid. This makes adjusting times very annoying because you naturally could scroll the time wheel to an earlier hour before being able to adjust the minutes. If you dont want to revert your changes on this one, at least make the validation text appear in a non-modal format - perhaps a red banner at the top or bottom that disappears when the fields are valid. This way the user can get into an intermediary invalid state and not have to constantly be tapping the OK button on the way to the desired time value. I hope you guys didnt bork the apps on the other platforms as badly. Im not a designer but as a user of the app, these issues bring me great frustration.

Hmm..

Please roll back to the last version. This new one is unusable.

Ahhhh, what happened?!?

The loss of key features is a horrible step back on this App. The ability to click the clock to add an event without having to push start and stop was a primary function for me. Also, the loss of new events pulling from similar events in the past was a necessary function to save time when adding new events. These were essentials, and are now loss. I fear finding other similar functionalities are missing.

Not as good as original app for general time tracking

I chose the original Toggl timer for its ability to easily track total times I spent on activities I performed during the day. All of these activities are duration-based and the start and stop times dont matter. This new timer (which the company says will replace the old version) doesnt support duration tracking, making it useless for my purposes. Ive been trying each new version hoping it gets fixed but the only fix so far has been an explicit disclaimer that duration based tracking isnt supporting. If you dont need to continue an existing timer then this version may work fine for you. Despite the nicer looking user interface Im very disappointed in this version and will continue using the original Toggl until it stops working.

Last update a disaster

Since the last update this app is terrible. Get error message that take a ton of extra time to edit past entries. This app was a great way for time tracking in the past and I really hope that this issue will be resolved or I will looking for another way. One would think that with all the negative reviews the designers would be scrambling to correct this.

What a disaster

The last two updates have been nothing short of a disaster. I was hoping the latest would solve the problems from the last one, but now the app keeps crashing within seconds, and the one time that it didnt it appeared that the previously inputted times have been changed from a couple of hours to a couple of hundred hours. Im afraid of opening the app now to further screw up my previous data. This is really disappointing, as it has been a great time managing tool for me that Ive used daily for over a year.

Simple and easy to use

Im a huge fan of Toggl for tracking the time I spend on projects. The mobile app is simple and easy to use. Love it!
